Rearcross FC Grounds hosted the meeting of Rearcross U-15’s and Borrisokane in this U15 Major League fixture with the home team securing maximum points on a 6-1 scoreline. The opening exchanges were evenly contested with Cathal Kennedy in the action inside the opening minute with a smart save to deny the visitors and then Aidan Bryan was on target two minutes later but the visiting keeper was positioned to gather. Eoin Sheldon broke down the right and struck a first time volley and was unlucky to see his effort finish in the side netting. The Rea boys opened the scoring in the 9th minute when Patrick Dawson’s in swinging corner kick fell to Aidan Bryan who finished to the net on the second attempt. Aidan Bryan turned provider two minutes later and worked the ball out to set up Patrick Dawson who struck over. It was two nil the home team on fifteen minutes after Stephen Rochford spotted the keeper off his line and drove a long range effort whizzing to the roof of the net from distance. Rearcross were cruising at this stage and tacked on goal number 3 in the 22nd minute after Aidan Bryan prodded inside the post with a great finish. Oran Connors got in on the action moments later with a cracking strike from out on the left. The hosts dominated to the half time whistle with the cross bar denying Stephen Rochford before a long range rasper from Paul Nolan wasn’t far away. Borrisokane upped the ante at the start of the second period and pulled a goal back after Kevin Cleary’s free kick went all the way to the net. The reprieve was short-lived however as Oran Connors added his second of the day with a strike from the edge of the box. It was one way traffic after this as Oran Connor’s completed his hat-trick midway through the half thanks to a close range finish. The Niall Ryan Joinery sponsored outfit ran out comfortable winners after this to leave a final score line of 6-1 in favour of the Slieve Felim side.
